I wanted to address some rumors that have begun swirling around the last few days. First, the good news. Our flagship Emeryville location isn’t going anywhere, so we hope you are ready for even bigger and more fun celebrations. Now, the bad. We just learned, like most of you, that London Hilton Park Lane has decided to renovate, and unfortunately (for now), we will be shutting the doors on January 1st, 2023. More info to come. But I wanted to say from the bottom of my heart how much we appreciate and love all of you.

Sad news from London 😟… …Posted @withrepost • @thehulagirls I just learned from @jericl that the 1960s-built Trader Vic's in London will be closing for good at the end of this year. I'm happy to have been able to visit this incredible restaurant a few years back. It will be a huge loss in the history of tiki. I've always said that if you like vintage tiki, you need to be okay with being disappointed. And after spending last night at the Trader Vic's Emeryville (also slated for demolition), it hurts even more.

Living out here on a tropical island, you’d think we’d be pretty isolated. But you’d be surprised to learn how many traditions make their way in from the mainland! One in particular is todays celebration of feasting! 😋🍗🥧🍴

A day for us to over eat, give thanks for the wonderful things we have, and to force the Bosun to wear the turkey hat! 😃🦃

And to celebrate today, we went ahead and made up a little variation of the jungle bird we did last year! But this time, with so much to be thankful for, we made it BIGGER! Say aloha to the Overstuffed Bird! 😳🍹

Overstuffed Bird recipe:
1 oz. @plantation.rum OFTD
0.5 oz. @edrumguy Demerara rum
2 oz. Spiced Sorrel*
1 oz. Lime juice
0.5 oz. Simple syrup (2:1)
0.5 oz. Cinnamon syrup
0.75 oz. @campariusa

Shake all ingredients with plenty of crushed ice, then pour unstrained into your snifter. Add more ice to fill, top off with some mint, and a carved orange turkey with a @surfsidesips bone straw and bone picks for drumsticks! 😉 🍗🍹

*Spiced Sorrel recipe:
1 cup hibiscus petals
0.5 cup dried cranberries
10 all apiece berries (crushed)
5 cloves
0.25 piece of nutmeg (crushed)
0.5 cup Cane sugar
3 cups water
Angostura bitters (reserve for after boiling)

Bring all ingredients, except for bitters, to a boil in sauce pan and then let simmer for 2 mins. Cut the heat and let steep overnight for 24h hours. Strain liquid, which should give you about 2 cups, and add 0.5 tsp of angostura per Oz. of liquid.
