Was the 1957 photo of the structure screened (Instead of the green glass)? It looks screened in the old photo you posted.
Yes, the A-frame was screened-in and the interior gardens were open-air in the early years of The Mai-Kai. The smaller dining rooms were air conditioned, but not the showroom. It was later sealed and the entire interior got AC.
