The 10th anniversary of The Hukilau, the annual gathering of Tikiphiles from around the globe that happens every June in Fort Lauderdale, is still fresh in our memory. But if we need a reminder, we just look to our mug and glassware collection, where Hukilau collectibles are a essential.<\/p>\n

If you didn’t get a chance to hit the merchandise booth in June, or if you were unlucky enough to miss The Hukilau entirely, it’s not too late to pick up a wide assortment of goodies from the official Hukilau online store:<\/A> <\/p>\n

Tiki For 2<\/B>, the commemorative mug set sculpted by Kevin Kidney<\/A> and produced by Munktiki.<\/A> These 4-ounce mugs (photo at right) feature the familiar “Huki” design by Kevin, similar to the full-size 2009 mug. One features a brown exterior glaze with green interior glaze, while the other features a vanilla exterior glaze with a orange sherbet interior glaze.<\/p>\n

The Hukilau 2011 T-shirt<\/B> features the original artwork by Kevin Kidney that is also featured on the snifter glass (see below). Mens and womens styles are available in various colors and sizes.<\/p>\n

The Hukilau Huki Pendant<\/B> (photo at right) was carved by Tiki Hana<\/A> and cast by Perry Drake, perfectly capturing the mug design.<\/p>\n

The Hukilau Moai Pendant<\/B> was carved by Tom Fowner<\/A> and cast by Perry Drake, another great collectible for the 10th anniversary.<\/p>\n

Last but not least, the 10th Anniversary Snifter Glass<\/b> (sold in pairs) was designed by Kevin Kidney to commemorate 10 years of The Hukilau using the logo and the images he created out of paper when he designed The Hukilau’s poster in 2007. The glass (see photo at right) is also at tribute to The Mai-Kai and Kevin’s favorite drink, the Black Magic. <\/p>\n

Now, we’d be remiss if we didn’t offer up a drink recipe to help you enjoy your cool new glassware. We love the snifter glass, which is essential for a lot of classic tropical drinks. * 3 ounces orange juice
\n* 2 ounces fresh-squeezed lemon juice
\n* 1 ounce sugar syrup
\n(1 part sugar, 1 part water, boiled and chilled)
\n* 1 ounce passion fruit syrup
\n* 1 1\/2 ounces dark Jamaican rum
\n* 1 1\/2 ounces light Puerto Rican (or Virgin Islands) rum<\/p>\n

Shake well with ice cubes in a large shaker and pour into a large snifter. Add more ice to fill. <\/p>\n

Jim now spends his time mixing cocktails, attending events and writing stories for this blog, which launched in 2011.
