Formed in 1988, Voodoo Glow Skulls meshed hardcore punk, traditional ska, tough guitar riffs and the Mexican music of its roots to create the prototype for the West Coast ska-core sound. The band's long-awaited ninth studio album, "Break The Spells," will be released Jan. 17 on Smelvis Records. Founded in 1994 in Mesa, Ariz., Authority Zero sought to create a sound that paid tribute to its punk rock forefathers, but not be confined by musical barriers.
